What is Haptic Feedback?

So the new Blackberry Storm is soon to be released.  There is no keyboard, just a simulated keyboard on the touchscreen.  One of the major problems with the iPhone is that you can hit the wrong letter and not know it. Blackberry fixes this with Haptic feedback. Haptic feedback is designed to let you know you have actually "clicked" something, so the user knows a key has been touched by feeling a slight sensation under the finger. I can't get one yet, so I can't describe it more than that. It will be a nice feature for what looks like a great phone.  I plan on buying one for myself as soon as it is released.

Gravatar Image2 - @1 Joe - So isn't a physical click "haptic feedback". If not, what is a better example?

Gravatar Image1 - The Storm's touchscreen doesn't use Haptics. It is actually the first touchscreen to provide a subtle, physical "click" just like a button on a mouse or key on a keyboard. I tried it and it is amazing for typing, but it is also amazing for browsing and navigating through other apps since you get far more accuracy to your touch. It's very cool. And like most great ideas, it makes you wonder why someone didn't think of it sooner.
